About

The Friends of Milwaukee Avenue Historic District is an independent, not-for-profit, membership organization dedicated to preserving the architectural history and legacy of the Milwaukee Avenue Historic District.

The Friends of Milwaukee Avenue Historic District was formed in January 2024 to promote, preserve, and share our unique neighborhood for the benefit of future generations.

Meet the Board

  • Debbie Randorf

    President

    Debra Randorf is retired librarian and children’s book author. She uses skills honed in more than 30 years of experience in NYC libraries and schools to support our mission and to raise awareness about historic preservation. Debbie loves living on Milwaukee Avenue, and seeks to share the magic of such vibrant urban spaces with future generations.

  • Samantha Solberg

    Vice President

    Samantha Solberg a Twin Cities communications and marketing professional with a passion for building effective communications and public relations strategies for nonprofits. For over 15 years, she has been creating content plans, writing stories, working with the media, and building social media audiences on behalf of mission-driven organizations. Samantha lives on Milwaukee Avenue with her husband Collin, cat Cece, and basset hound Dixie.

  • Connie Fournier

    Secretary

    Connie Fournier spent 30 years in government, first helping homeowners secure grants to make needed repairs, then administering the housing code to ensure minimum safety standards in rental property and, finally, with the City of Minneapolis assuring the building code was met in residential and commercial buildings. Connie and her husband, Harold, renovated their historic home on Milwaukee Avenue in 1977 and have lived there ever since.
